Thermae Imperiali

I was walking among the ancient architecture of the Baia Baths, just outside Naples, and I felt time stand still. Stone, steam, and silence enveloped everything. I immediately understood that these were not simple baths, but sacred places: spas ante litteram, where body and soul were cared for together.
The hot water gushed forth like a gift, the steam melted away thoughts, every gesture became slow and mindful. Here, well-being was balance, listening, profound harmony with nature, in an ancient, almost imperial sacredness.
